Helen Ingham

Foundation Trustee

Leathersellers Federation

Helen moved to South East London to train as a teacher and subsequently taught in schools in Lewisham and Southwark for over thirty years.  Prior to her current role as an education consultant, Helen spent fourteen years as headteacher of Ivydale Primary School in Nunhead.

Throughout her career Helen has gained extensive experience of the vital role governance plays in school improvement as a headteacher and previously as a staff governor and an advisor.  This has been further enhanced by her chairing the Local Governing Board at Prendergast Ladywell for the last twelve months.  In addition, she is on the board of a local education charity providing Saturday enrichment classes for children in local primary schools.

As a trustee I am looking forward to using my skills and knowledge to further support school improvement across the Federation enabling me to continue to play my part in improving the life chances and opportunities for children in South East London.
